Modularity
Keep rendering, world data, and simulation responsibilities clearly separated as the project grows.
A modular, open-source voxel engine written in Rust. Built for performance, flexibility, and exploration.
Core technologies currently identified by the project.
These principles guide development. They are not claims that planned engine capabilities are already available.
Keep rendering, world data, and simulation responsibilities clearly separated as the project grows.
Build with correctness first, then profile real workloads before optimizing.
Aim for broad platform compatibility and claim runtime support only after hardware validation.
Explore future tools and extension points without promising APIs that do not exist yet.
Make design decisions, tradeoffs, and project progress understandable to contributors.
Veyl is an experimental pre-alpha project. The current prototype opens a native window and renders a colored 3D cube with a basic camera. It is not yet a playable or production-ready engine.
